Preschool Graduation 2014 and program results
A big congratulations to our mom's and students from our first year of the Lilburn Little Stars Preschool Co-Op. We had a fantastic year full of a variety of field trips and great curriculum. Our graduation ceremony consisted of a fun field day and potluck. As far as our attrition rate we started the year with 9 participating families and ended with 7. Not bad for our first year. The two families we lost were around March so they participated most of the year. The kids bonded and grew socially and academically. I can't wait until my son is old enough for preschool in a couple of years to do this all again now that I have the template and the know how. Feel free to comment with questions if you are starting your own preschool coop wherever you may be.

First Semester Preschool Recap
The Lilburn Preschool Co Op is gearing up to start it's 2nd Semester. The first has been a success! Our children our writing their names and working on their D'nealian handwriting skills and are already starting to add and subtract. They have demonstrated through learning activities that they can share and work together as well as work independently to accomplish a task. From using Scissors to cut out strips of paper to making vegetable soup and playdough ornaments these kids have formed and strengthened friendships that extend outside of class time. Our field trips have included visiting the Lilburn Fire Department for the Fire Department tour and the Stone Mountain fire department and Police Department, participating in the Krispy Kreme Dress Like a Pirate Day, the Lilburn Publix for a store tour, the Pumpkin Patch and Pictures with Santa at Bass Pro.
The 2nd Semester Curriculum includes some great opportunities for some field trips that will coincide with the topics. I am trying to organize some of the following; to the zoo, a local farm, the train museum and the arora theater children's play. Our focus this semester is interpersonal communication skills as well as team building activities. As we help prepare our children with the foundation for their educational journey, working together will help them in class as well as the rest of their lives. A special thank you to our mom's that participated last semester and I look forward to starting out last semester next week.
